Terri,

Instead of trying for a CD player, IF you have a home computer, invest 
in an ipod, or other mp3 player.  Ipod is the most integrated solution.  
Turn your cd collection into mp3's and carry them all on one ipod (80 
GB) or just a few on the Nano's.  No more cd's in your car!  There are 
plenty of solutions for those too, probably more for that now than for a 
portable CD player.  Also, they have a rechargable battery, and for 
short trips, that means no cigarette lighter plug in.
