[MSCW list] Miata #/*{x*?#* dip sticks !

OK - - -What's with M1 Miata dips sticks breaking  all the time !!!    This
is the third one in four years - - all broke at the same place - - -just
below the yellow finger pull.  The yellow finger pull is made of plastic, &
I suppose that it gets baked and becomes brittle from the engine heat.
These suckers cost $29 from the dealer, and the used Mazda parts sellers
don't deal in them.  My brother repaired my first broken one with  very
small metal straps screwed on each side, and then it broke below the screws
a little later.

Any suggestions?
