Thanks, David. My inclination is the same as yours: wait until: A. The
noise drives me nuts, or B. It gets worse and causes some operational
problem, or C. It goes away of its own accord (not bloody likely, I suspect).

I believe I have a similar situation to yours; a high pitched, squeal
as the clutch is taking up--sounds like something metal clearing it's
throat.
Our 2006 Acura TSX (78,000 miles, original clutch) has been doing
that for about two years, although it is not temperature related. It
goes for days without doing it, then does it a couple times, then
stops for awhile. I worried about it for a bit, then started
listening carefully. It is not the sound of metal on metal, and it
is not the sound of a bearing failure like a wheel bearing--more
something vibrating quickly. The high pitch means it can't be a very
big something.
I'm thinking it is a resonant vibration, and I agree it probably has
to do with the throw-out bearing, or whatever holds it in place.
Think of suspending a piece of metal and tapping it with a hammer.
It would take something roughly the size of a throw out bearing to
create that pitch.
The obvious question, then, is what to do about it. My personal
decision is just to live with it until it either makes you crazy, or
starts to get worse. At least that's what I'm doing.
If you do have someone dig into it, let us know. You are not alone.
Best wishes,
David Lane

All,
I'd like some advice on the following:
1. Wiper Blade Replacements: As you may know, you cannot purchase actual
blade replacements anymore, you have to buy the wiper blade frame
assembly.
This is kind of expensive as the blade assembly costs $ 9.00 - $ 11.00
dollars each. Calculate two cars, four wipers, replacing every 6 months
and
you will wind up spending over $88.00/ year vs. under for $40 per year
for
replacing blades only.
With that said, has anyone found a supplier that offers replacement wiper
blades only?
Is there a supplier that produces a wonder blade that lasts forever?
2. Track Tires: I'm not having any success in finding DOT track tires that
will allow me to drive to a track event (Mazda Drivers for example),
participate and then drive home. The problem is the Mazda RX8/R3 has
245/40/R19
wheels and I've not been able to find a DOT track tire to meet those
specs.
Advice appreciated.
3. Available for sale $250.00 , Four, 1988 RX7 convertible 15" wheels with
Hoosier track tires already mounted and used at just one MDA event for a
Saturday only.
Thanks,
JBecker

Pep Boys supposedly has refills available in it's "Proline". I don't
recall seeing them there, maybe you have to go tho the counter. And
Autobarn has Pylon blades cheap:

OTOH, I've been using Bosch or Trico, complete blades, and replacing
once a year.

IIRC, those are NOT 4x100, correct?
