Another lead - I was able to get it at the Ford dealer on Route 7 by Tyson's
Corner.? Don't remember the price but it was?a good bit less than $20 a quart.

All,
Have been doing research on manual transmission fluid to replace the factory
fluid to improve shifting in the '06-'10 MX-5's. Redline did a great job in
my '91 NA, but apparently further degrades the NC/D's. The consensus winner
in the forums is Motorcraft Full Synthetic Manual Transmission Fluid, part
number XTM-5Q-QS, which Ford gets from a German manufacturer for some of
their SVT setups. But, unfortunately it's $20+ a quart and not stocked by
most Ford dealers. One of the dealers referred me to J.K. Autoparts which
has 9 stores throughout Northern Virginia. The closest to me (Lorton) got
the fluid from their warehouse in two hours and sold it to me for $13.12 a
quart! A find for anyone in the area who needs this particular MTO.
