Have you checked your drain tubes in the "corners" behind the seats? Have
you checked the drains in your doors, and in the seams by the pinch welds?

Sloshing sounds usually indicate a drainage problem after a rainstorm.

Okay, here's a weird one. I've had this car for 6 years, and have only
noticed this in the last week. In the mornings on the way to work, I hear
an obvious liquid sloshing around sound coming from what seems to be behind
the passenger seat. It doesn't matter if the fuel tank is full or near
empty. I don't hear it on the way home, but it sounds like it is a lot of
water?, gas? sloshing around. There's no odor in the car or in the trunk,
and I've stopped and swung the door open/closed and it is not in the door.
It seems like it correlates some with whether it has rained, but I'm not
sure about that.

I play the stereo at the same volume all the time, and have been doing
stop/start driving in DC for 3+ years now, along the same route every day,
and I've never heard this until last week.

I was the victim of someone letting the air out of one of my tires overnight
on several occasions, could I be the victim of another prank or is there a
more scientific explanation?

Not that it matters, but it is a 2004 MX-5 Mazdaspeed, metallic grey.

Your mystified friend,

Glenn
