NB Miatas have a standard DIN size opening for the radio, the JVC we got came with a mounting sleeve that fits the opening.  I picked up an adapter from Pep Boys and mated up the terminals to the plug that came with the radio, so it's a plug in installation.  A factory cubby replaced the cassette player.
