[MSCW list] Miata Purchasing Help

Hello,
I am new to the list serve and would like to request some help from a Miata enthusiast.  I am replacing my 1976 MGB and it appears that the Miata is a modern day MGB.  From searching the web it appears that if I search and search I can get a 2003 with less than 40k miles in the area of $10k.  Is this this a good way to go?   Is mileage more important than model year?  Are there any options that I should be looking for?  Is there a better way to search other than the used car web sites such as Cars.com, Craigslist, Cargurus, etc.?  Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
