MSCW Scenic Drive #7 - The Fall Overnighter - Watkins Glen, NY - October
7-8, 2017

This drive will feature fall foliage in Pennsylvania and New York, and a
visit and drive on the world-renowned Watkins Glen race course.

We'll depart the Harry Grove Baseball stadium in Frederick, Maryland at 8:00
AM. We'll follow US15 for most of the trip with some detours around cities
or for more interesting roads. We'll stop for lunch in Williamsport, PA, at
the Bullfrog Brewery and then continue north, ending up at Watkins Glen
Racetrack around 3:00 PM. At 4:00 PM we will have our paced drive on the
racetrack (this is faster than a typical parade lap, but not a full-throttle
event), and at the completion of that we can head into the town itself for
dinner at the Wildflower/Crooked Rooster Brew Pub. After dinner folks are on
their own to find their hotel(s).

Lodging - No group reservations have been made - the best places to find
lodging would be in nearby Corning NY (20 miles) or in the town of Watkins
Glen itself.

The route home is still being planned - I'm going to poll the folks that are
actually committed to the trip to choose a route or specific points we might
want to visit.  So Sign up early!
