Hi Gene,

For my 2006 Miata I have used a CoverCraft cover for several years now -- I think the "Custom WeatherShield HP Car Cover" model.  During the past 4 winters my car has seat at the curb in front of my house protected with that rain, snow or sun.  No problems.  It breaths, does not trap moisture and keeps the weather off the car's finish.  For multi-month durations, I would advise leaving it in gear but not setting the parking brake (use a wheel chock)  -- I have had the break pads stick somehow.
