I found the Valvoline full synthetic high mileage works well and took the lifter noise away that occurred occasionally. No oil leaks.

Synthetic motor oil may cause leaks or damage to the seals and gaskets of some older engines that were not designed for it. This is because synthetic oil has different properties and additives than conventional oil, which may not suit the specifications of some engines.? I am curious if any MSCW members have any experience/opinions on this?

This synthetic oil contains the additives that prevents leaks and is compatible with the seals in older vehicles. You may want to consider this option for the added benefits of synthetic oil. Here is a link to Mobil 1's site that describes their oils: https://www.mobil.com/en/lubricants/about-us/mobil-1/high-mileage-motor-oil
