[MSCW list] MSCW 2024 Maintenance Open House - May 19, 2024

On May 19, I'll host a light maintenance day at my house in Fairfax VA. Bring your car over for an oil change, brake work, tune up, or other DIY maintenance, or just a wash/wax session. You can also simply show up to assist/learn.  If weather is predicted to be bad, I'll likely reschedule to the 26th of May.

BYOB and snacks, we'll have a grill and burgers/dogs with fixins.

Nothing too complicated (i.e. no timing belts at this event) or requiring more than hand tools. Hand tools are present, including:

  *   Full set of socket and hand wrenches
  *   Torque wrenches
  *   Compression tester
  *   Pressure/vacuum tester
  *   Timing light
  *   Motive fluid pump (for trans/diff)
  *   Motive power bleeder for brakes or clutch
  *   Impact wrench
  *   Impact screwdriver
  *   Two sets of stands
  *   Jack
  *   Ramps
  *   Electrical stuff (soldering iron, multimeter)
You must bring your own fluids/parts.  All work warranted for ten minutes or the end of the driveway, whichever comes first.  Generally we can handle about 6-8 cars with small jobs in a single day.

I'll also have all my old NA spare parts available for picking over - if you want it, it's yours, though you have to figure out how to get it home.
