C&Creplaced my timing belt and the water pump on my ’94 NA this year.  I am happy with the customer service and the quality of the work.  BTW: was turned away by other repair facilities because the car was to old.

Greetings,

Newly subscribed to the list, so please forgive if this is not the correct place to post a request for recommendations.

I have a a 2012 NC2 PRHT GT (~60k miles) - all stock with original Bilsteins suspension package (feeling its age!) that I'm looking to finally update/upgrade with new coilovers.  I looking for a mechanic in the DC/DMV area (I?m in DC) that knows Miatas and has a good reputation in the community so that I can get new coilovers installed with ride height set properly, probably get new tires installed at the same time, and if possible get a road test/overall health check on the vehicle so that I can take care of any worn bushings,/undercarriage issues while the car is lifted.  I?d eventually want to get a good alignment after the new suspension has settled in too.

Do any MSCW members have recommendations for your preferred/trusted mechanic(s) in the area that I can look into?

Thanks so much in advance.

- Drew

Welcome to MSCW.  All good to ask for recommendations.

CAR|BONE PBC Automotive in Chantilly is under new ownership and continues to receive favorable comments from fellow Miata owners.

Two other places I can recommend:
PTuning in Manassas (who put in an FM suspension on my NA6 years ago)
Auto Stop Elite in Sterling VA near Dulles, who understand Miatas.

Visit/Call whoever you're considering and find out what their process is for installing owner-supplied or owner-specified parts.  Some will let you bring the parts in, others want you to have the parts shipped from the source to them.  Basically they want to be on the hook only for the work they do, not for the parts you supply.

Good luck!

-Tim
