Artisan does great work. They used to be very busy in the past so you had to be patient with them when it came to scheduling. But I know Elizabeth recently had her NA repaired after a deer incident, and from the video I've seen they still have the attention to detail.

Color Master Mex (west of Chantilly on US50) repainted my NA years ago, fixing the rocker rust and painting it with the racing stripes I wanted, in the colors I wanted, at a great price. I believe Mike Nette has had work done there as well.

Bottom line, there are good body shops in the area. I think it's helpful if you give them detailed instructions in writing, so you can hold them to the work you specified. But that may be because I've been on both sides of Federal contract negotiations, and I believe that good specs result in good work.

Mazda Sports Cars of Washington (MSCW), Social Group List Serve

Benita, Ian Ward of our club recommended Artisan Autobody to me and they are located at 8225 Conner Dr, Manassas Park, VA. They repaired rocker panel rust and I had them repaint the hood and I am very pleased with the results (1990 Miata). I got 3 estimates and they were the lowest of the three, in one case almost 50% lower. Valerie works the front desk and is very nice and knowledgeable as was everyone I dealt with. If you do go there, it's located in an industrial area so it looks a little sketchy but I felt safe and they looked after my car while they were working on it.

Good luck, Mitch
