On Thursday, December 11th, we're going to have an event in three parts:
1. 4:30 PM - A drive through the Clifton VA area, where we should see some houses decorated. Tops are not required to be down on this drive, which will take place in the evening twilight. We'll head on VA645 (Clifton Road) to VA123, and back via Fairfax Station Road to get us to the next part.
2. 5:30 PM - A meal at Sweetwater Tavern, a Great American Restaurant with a southwest theme and a wide variety of food
3. A drive to/through the Bull Run Festival of Lights at 7 PM. This is the spot where if you CAN put your roof down (don't break the plastic window!) you should.
All parts are optional. Just be sure to sign up for the parts where you'll be with the group. That will let me make reservations for dinner. I suggest you buy your ticket ($30 per car) in advance rather than paying more the night of the event. https://www.novaparks.com/events/bull-run-festival-of-lights.
Logistics:
* Assembly and Departure - 12/11/2025 - The first part will start at the Centreville High School Parking Lot at 4:30 PM. We'll assemble at 4:15 PM. Dinner will be at Sweetwater Tavern ( 14250 Sweetwater Ln, Centreville, VA 20121), we'll have a 5:30 reservation. We'll leave the restaurant at 6:30 PM or so to get us to the Bull Run Festival at 6:55 PM.
* Time/Distance - The total distance is less than 50 miles, and we should be done with the light show by 8 PM so you can get home by 9 PM
* Fees - $30 per car for the festival of light
* Food - Sweetwater Tavern (https://www.sweetwatertavern.pub/location/centreville)
* Car limits - 24 cars for the Clifton Drive, no limit on Dinner or the Festival of Lights
* Weather - Barring snow, the drive will happen as planned. If it's undrivable, have a Happy Holiday anyway!
* Technology - I will bring thirteen extra Midland GMRS radios. If you want to bring your own GMRS radio, we will be using Channel 30 on Midland Radios, or 462.7000 MHz frequency and CTCSS 17 (118.8 Hz) for the privacy code. In Glympse, we'll use the !mscw_cruise tag to keep track of each other. I'll collect the radios at Sweetwater Tavern.
RSVP via signup genius at https://rebrand.ly/mscw2025-sc-10. Don't use Facebook to indicate you're going.
