Our first drive of the season (March 22nd - same as last year!) will be a short NoVA route that Ian and I drove in December, with a mix of scenic cruising and some curves.  Heck if you bring your car to the maintenance event on the 21st, you can call it a tune-up weekend!

The route will begin at the Leesburg Target parking lot, then head up US15 and make a left at the Little Rock Motel onto Newvalley Church Road, to bring us to VA662 (Stumptown Rd) to Loyalty road into Waterford. We'll then take VA704 towards Purcellville and join VA600 to Snickersville Tpke and Lime Kiln Road.  The drive will end at Lime Kiln and Pon Farr (just off US15) and folks can head north or south on US15 to make their way home.

Logistics:

Assembly - We'll begin to assemble at the Leesburg Target parking lot (Edwards Ferry Rd NE near US15 Business) at 1:15 PM.

Departure - We'll depart the lot at 1:45 PM.

Time/Distance - Expect the time to be around one hour and ten minutes of driving, and about 35 miles.  We should get to the end around 3 PM

Food - We'll have a pre-drive lunch at The Dons' Wood-Fired Pizza in Sterling at noon. (https://thedonspizza.com)  Seating and parking is limited but outdoor seating may work.  No need to sign up for the lunch, just show up and have a slice or two.

Car limits – 20 cars for this route.

Weather - If the weather is bad on the 22nd, we'll push this drive to April 25th.

Technology -  I will bring eleven extra Midland GMRS radios.  IIf you want to bring your own GMRS radio, we will be using Channel 30 on Midland Radios, or 462.7000 MHz frequency and CTCSS 17 (118.8 Hz) for the privacy code.  In Glympse, we'll use the !mscw_cruise tag to keep track of each other.
